His Only Forgotten Son

My wife and I had the pleasure of joining another church body for worship on Sunday. At the beginning of their service a number groups of young children took turns reciting passages of Scripture they had committed to memory. One group recited John 3:16:

For God so loved the world that he gave his only forgotten son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

We couldn’t help but laugh. Kids say the darndest things.
